Summary:Surface Independent Smartboard Abstract: The proposed system is an innovative approach for building a novel product that can convert any existing flat area into an interactive touch surface, where the gestures captured will be transformed into interactive elements on the display coordinates. Dedicated Hardware equipped with a light sensor, captures the hand movements which later represented as a point cloud. These points are then translated onto the connected display, making it surface interactive. The proposed system can prove to be a cost effective solution against dependency on expensive smart boards and can also become a de facto standard for modern interactive systems.
