Summary:The invention relates to an apparatus for monitoring an operating state of a control apparatus of a passenger transport system, comprising a detection unit for generating a first electrical value as a function of a signaled state of the control apparatus. The apparatus furthermore comprises an evaluating unit for analysis of the first electrical value in relation to the operating state of the control apparatus. The apparatus also comprises an interface for transmitting a second electrical signal, which is dependent on the analysis and is generated in the evaluating unit. According to the invention, the detection unit is a conversion apparatus for converting an optical signal of at least one optical indicator of the control apparatus into the first electrical signal. The apparatus for monitoring an operating state of a control apparatus of a passenger transport system enables the tapping of status information on the control apparatus without modification work being required on the control apparatus.
