Summary:The invention relates to gripper jaws (19, 20) for an insulation stripper (1), each jaw comprising a gripping surface (F) and an attachment extension (76), with ribs (81), which run transversely to a longitudinal direction of a cable (21) to be gripped when the gripping surfaces are fitted, being formed on the gripping surface (F), and comprising groove-like recesses (82) corresponding to the ribs and running between the latter, the recesses having a recess base (83). In order to further develop gripper jaws and in addition an insulation stripper having gripper jaws of this type to improve the ease of use, according to the invention when the gripper jaws (19, 20) are fitted, the ribs (81) can enter into the recesses (82) of the opposing gripper jaw (19, 20) in accordance with the thickness of the cable (21) to be gripped. The invention also relates to blades (24, 25) for an insulation stripper (1), the blades (24, 25) having, on their free ends that run into a blade tip (69) with an acute angle in cross-section, a contour line (70), which has a depression (71), when seen from a side view in which the contour line (70) forms the termination line of the blade (24, 25), the contour line (70) on an integrally formed blade (24, 25) being given and the depression (71), when seen from the side, appearing as a constantly curved line with an optionally first radius (a).
