Summary:A cleaning apparatus 10 and system 12 for removing debris 16 from a surface 18 of a plate 14. The apparatus 10 has a cleaning area 28 and a pair of brushes 30/32 disposed in the cleaning area 28 with the bristles 36 of a first brush 30 facing toward the bristles 36 of the second brush 32 so that debris 16 is scraped off the plate 14 as the plate 14 is pushed through the bristles 36. The cleaning area 28 may be defined by a container 26 or an opening 116 in a work surface 114. Brush mounting mechanisms 34 mount the brushes 30/32 to opposing sidewalls 38 of the container 26 or opposing interior surfaces 122 of the opening 116. Preferably, the brush mounting mechanisms 34 and brushes 30/32 are cooperatively configured so the bristles 36 of the brushes 30/32 overlap each other where the plate 14 will be pushed through the bristles 36. The mounting mechanisms 34 may comprise a clip 70 that engages a sidewall 38 or an attachment mechanism 120 that engages the interior surface 122. The system 12 includes the apparatus 10.
