Summary:A nesting paint bucket and tray system includes a paint bucket and a paint tray. The paint bucket has an open upper end with an upper edge defined around the open upper end and a receptacle for holding paint. The paint tray has a depth that is less than the depth of the paint bucket and has an upper edge that is shaped and sized to seat on the upper edge of the paint bucket to permit the paint tray to nest inside the paint bucket. The upper edge of the paint tray supports the weight of the paint tray and any paint inside the tray. The paint tray provides an elevated work surface relative to a paint level in the paint bucket. A tool storage receptacle and a gripping portion for a paint tray is also disclosed.
