A barrier (10) comprising a plurality of parallel horizontal cables (12) and a plurality of brace members (14) each comprising an elongate member (18) having a first connector (20) on a first end and a pair of second connectors (22) on a second end. Sets of brace members (14) are provided separated at intervals along the width of the barrier (10) such that the brace members (14) of each set extend along a vertical axis from a lowermost horizontal cable (12) to an uppermost horizontal cable (12) with each of the brace members (14) extending between a pair of adjacent horizontal cables (12). A first of the pair of horizontal cables (12) is received in the first connector (20) and a second of the pair of horizontal cables (12) is received in the second connectors (22). The first connector (20) of each the brace members (14) is received between second connectors (22) of an adjacent brace member (14).
