Summary:CONTROL OF BUBBLE SIZE IN A CARBONATED LIQUID A method, comprising: inserting a stretch rod into a heated plastic preform having a neck portion (991), wherein the neck portion is secured relative to an axis of motion of the stretch rod, and the stretch rod includes a tip having cavities formed therein, the cavities having shapes corresponding to sharp pointed extensions; pushing the stretch rod tip against an inner bottom region of the preform so as to force heated plastic of the preform into the cavities (992); and blowing a gas into the stretched preform so as to create a plastic bottle having the sharp pointed extensions formed in an interior bottom surface thereof (993).
