Summary: | A closure apparatus (10) for a vessel or structure involving a pressure differential, said closure apparatus comprising: a sub body (16) having an annular opening with a sealing surface defined about a central axis (34); a closure door (18) carried by the sub body and movable thereto between an open position and a closed position; a first hinge (60, 62) mounted to the closure door; a second hinge (64, 66) mounted to the sub body (16); a swing arm (72) connecting the first and second hinges; a first adjustment mechanism (see FIG. 7) on the first hinge, the first hinge being radially spaced from the central axis (34), wherein the adjustment mechanism is adjustable to adjust planarity between the closure door (18) and the sub body (16), further comprising a second adjustment mechanism on the second hinge, wherein the second adjustment mechanism is adjustable to adjust concentricity between the closure door (18) and the sub body (16), wherein the first hinge (60, 62) defines a first hinge axis (61) that extends generally through the central axis; and wherein the second hinge (64, 66) defines a second hinge axis (63) extending generally parallel to the first hinge axis (61) and not intersecting the central axis. 38 936 FIG. 5 54 48 96 114 61 - 130 90 >90 78x |
