Summary:A reclosable opening device (3, 3') for packages (1) of pourable food products, which opening device has a frame (10) fitted about a pierceable portion (4) of the package and defining 5 a through pour opening (11); a removable threaded cap (12) that screws onto the frame to close the pour opening; a tubular cutter (15) engaging the pour opening and having, at one axial end, cutting means (31) which cooperate with the pierceable portion to unseal the package; first connecting means (13) connecting the cap to the cutter, and which, as the cap is unscrewed off the frame, push the cutter towards the pierceable portion; and second connecting means (14) 10 connecting the frame to the cutter, and which, in use, feed the cutter along a predetermined piercing path (P) through the pierceable portion in response to unscrewing of the cap; and the piercing path (P) of the cutter, as the cap is unscrewed off the frame, has a first portion (P) of pure axial translation, followed by a second portion (P) having both an axial and a rotary component of motion.
