Summary:Abstract Rainbow Piano is a coding system designed to simplify the task of sight reading for the learner playing the piano. There is a combination of alterations. There is an alteration to the way traditional written music is depicted and a corresponding physical alteration to the traditional piano keyboard. Each written musical note is uniquely identified by use of a specific colour coding system and use of a letter from the alphabet. The corresponding physical piano key* on the piano keyboard is identified by using the same colour and letter of the alphabet. C Major is the most basic musical key# with an octave commencing at middle C and ending at C (7 keys* to the right of middle C). White keys* are played and black keys* ignored. This piano learning invention consists of the following : 1. The division of piano keyboard into 7 C Major Octaves excluding the final C of the octave (from C ascending to B). 2. A colour is assigned to each Octave of the Piano Keys* on the Keyboard. 3. The letter of the note (A to G) is engraved onto the mechanical Keys* of the Keyboard. 4. The note is represented in musical notation by both a letter and the colour corresponding to the mechanical keys on the Keyboard. 5. The system is designed with use of the colours of the rainbow in mind, however any colour coding system may be applied. 6. A small arrow to the right is attached to the Sharp "#" Symbol, indicating that the note this is attached to is played one semitone to the right. 7. A small arrow to the left is attached to the Flat "b" Symbol, indicating that the note this is attached to is played one semitone to the left. The "Rainbow Piano" invention is designed to be simple, intuitive, visually appealing and fun to play. It may be used stand alone or integrated with existing teaching methods. --- --- - -- --- --- Ann* --- --- --- goom --- --- ---Noon Wma
