Summary:The present invention concerns the elimination of heavy metals, in particular mercury and possibly arsenic and lead, present in a dry or moist gaseous effluent (1) by means of a capture mass (2) comprising a porous support at least part of which is of low mesoporosity and 5 an active phase based on sulphur.
