Summary: | A system for accessing a surgical target site comprises a distraction assembly for creating a tissue 5 distraction corridor in a lateral, trans-psoas path to a targeted spinal site. A retraction assembly retracts tissue from the tissue distraction corridor to form an operative corridor. A control unit transmits an electrical stimulation signal to at least one stimulation electrode and receives an electromyographic (EMG) sensor signal of a neuromuscular response of a nerve depolarized by the stimulation signal. The control unit includes a display device with a graphical user interface 10 that displays information indicative of at least one of nerve proximity and nerve direction in response to the EMG sensor signal. |
