The dehydrogenation catalyst of the present invention comprises a nano-sized complex containing a Group VIII component; a group IVA component and a sulfur containing capping agent; an alkali component; a halogen component; and a support with an inner core of alpha alumina and an outer layer comprising a mixture of gamma alumina and delta alumina.
