Summary: | The present invention relates to a catalyst for the production of gaseous streams of hydrogen or those rich in hydrogen by means of reforming hydrocarbons with steam. Said catalyst comprises at least a support, an active phase and at least two promoter agents, characterized in it being a solid of the supported-metal type wherein the active phase comprises at least one transition metal selected from group VIII and at least one promoter agent selected from the alkaline-earth or transition metals, and the support comprising at least one mixed oxide having a basic character and at least one promoter agent selected from the lanthanide group. The invention furthermore has as its object the procedure for preparing the catalyst together with the use thereof in a process for obtaining hydrogen or a gas rich in hydrogen from hydrocarbons under differing conditions of operation and employing different types of hydrocarbon. The catalyst to which the present invention relates presents high activity and selectivity to the gasification of the hydrocarbon together with high resistance to the different deactivation mechanisms which the catalyst experiences during the reforming process with steam. |
