Summary:PNEUMATIC TYRE WITH SINGLE NON-CONTINUOUS CARCASS PLY Abstract s A carcass (10) for a pneumatic tyre (1) includes a first annular bead (12), a second annular bead (12), a first continuous radial ply (20), a second continuous radial ply (21), and a third non-continuous radial ply (36). The first radial ply (20) has two shoulder portions (30) and two lateral edge portions (16,16'). One lateral edge portion (16) of the first ply (20) extends from one shoulder portion (30) of the first ply (20) to radially inward to a location proximal to the first annular bead (12). The other lateral edge portion (16') of the first ply (20) extends from the other shoulder portion (30) of the first ply (20) radially inward to a location proximal to the second annular bead (12). The second continuous radial ply (21) has two shoulder portions (30) and two lateral edge portions (16,16'). One lateral edge portion (16) of the second ply (21) extends from one 15 shoulder portion (30) of the second ply (21) radially inward to a location proximal to the first annular bead (12). The other lateral edge portion (16') of the second ply (21) extends from the other shoulder portion (30) of the second ply (21) radially inward to a location proximal to the second annular bead (12). The third non-continuous radial ply (36) has a first portion and a second portion separate and distinct from the first portion. The first 20 portion of the third ply extends from a location proximal to one shoulder portion (16) of the second ply (21) to a location proximal to the first annular bead (12). The second portion extends from the other shoulder portion (16') of the second ply (21) to a location proximal to the second annular bead (12). c-4 ~~Tto cv4 rI
