Summary:This invention relates to industrial production of proteins. More specifically, the invention relates to a method for obtaining cells that stably express a protein of interest, even when cultivated in the absence of selective pressure. DHFR is used as a surrogate marker. The transfected cells are not selected based on resistance to a toxic compound, but based on fluorescence as measured by FACS using fluorescent MTX.
