Summary:The invention provides a method for the treatment of acne comprising orally administering to a person suffering from acne an effective amount of a whey protein fraction containing lactoferrin, and preferably containing further specific whey proteins. The lactoferrin is preferably native bovine lactoferrin and the whey protein fraction is administered at a level of between 10 mg and 2 g lactoferrin per patient per day.
