Summary: | Converting carbon monoxide to C 2 +> hydrocarbons in the presence of hydrogen and a catalyst comprising a metal and a support comprises using a support comprising more than 50 wt.% beta silicon carbide. Independent claims are also included for: (1) converting carbon monoxide to C 2 +> hydrocarbons in the presence of hydrogen and a catalyst to produce a hydrocarbon effluent comprising more than 70 mole% of a mixture of C 6-C 1 2 hydrocarbons (50-90 mole%) and C 1 3-C 2 4 hydrocarbons (10-50 mole%); (2) C 2 +> hydrocarbon effluent comprising hydrocarbons, methane and carbon dioxide and containing more than 70 mole% of a mixture of C 6-C 1 2 hydrocarbons (50-90 mole%) and C 1 3-C 2 4 hydrocarbons (10-50 mole%). |
