Summary:A modular conveyor belt (42) constructed of a series of rows (44,45) of belt modules (10,60) with a hinge (30,130,230,72) formed in each row and aligned in the direction of belt travel with hinges (30,130,230,72) of adjacent rows. The hinge allows the belt (42) to conform to a non-coplanar carryway (54) support to form, for example, a trough. In some versions, the hinge is a living hinge formed by flexible or thinned-out regions (30,130,230) of the belt between rigid regions (28,128,228). In other versions, the hinge is formed by interleaved hinge eyes (72) between modules (60) along each row interconnected by a hinge pin (76) along an axis oriented in the direction of belt travel.
