Summary: | The invention relates to a method for the oxidative purification of gaseous media, especially for removing H2S and other sulphurous components from CLAUS tail gases and other gas flows. The inventive method is characterized by allowing an all metal catalyst to come into contact with an oxidant. Said all metal catalyst comprises the following components: at least one group I alloying element, at least one group II alloying element, and at least one group III alloying element. The group I alloying elements exclusively form bivalent oxides in an oxygen-containing atmosphere below the Tamman temperature. The group II alloying elements exclusively form trivalent oxides in an oxygen-containing atmosphere below the Tamman temperature. The group III alloying elements exclusively form oxides in different degrees of oxidation depending on the temperature and gas atmosphere, especially the partial pressure of the oxygen. The inventive method is further characterized by allowing the all metal catalyst so obtained to come into contact with the oxidant. |
