Summary:The medical process for positioning one or more instrument probes on a treatment site involves the use of a site probe. Initially a site probe (30) is attached to or near the treatment site during an imaging process. The site probe is left attached using hooks or other securing devices. The patient is them moved a treatment area which has a number of transducers (300) providing a frame reference. The site probe has a transducer that interacts with the reference frame. Instrument probes also have transducers (230). A computer determines the location of each probe and provides a display (28) of the direction in which the instrument probe must be moved.
