Summary:The present invention relates to stable aqueous colloid-disperse solutions of the salt of copolymers built up from the monomers N,N-dimethylaminoethyl acrylate and/or methacrylate and of the methacrylate and/or acrylate of a C10- to C22-fatty alcohol, acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid and methyl acrylate and/or methacrylate. The copolymers can be prepared by solution polymerisation initiated by free radicals. They display a strong sizing action even at a low concentration and are particularly stable towards electrolytes.
