Summary:The invention relates to a process for the preparation of N,N-disubstituted mono- and oligourethanes, in which N-substituted mono- and oligourethanes are reacted with dialkyl carbonates in the presence of at least equivalent amounts of alkali metal carbonates and/or alkaline earth metal carbonates and in the presence of 1-10 mol% - relative to the urethane groups, of a phase transfer catalyst in the presence of excess dialkyl carbonate and/or an aprotic solvent.
