The safety cut-out (5) is arranged in the wire feed direction (22) in front of the wire drive (3). The wire drive and the torch tube (10) are mounted so as to be suspended on the movable part of the safety cut-out (5), here a switching disc (14). The safety cut-out (5) itself is connected to the hand (6) of a manipulator (1). Attachments, for example a welding sensor (25), can be arranged on the wire drive (3) via a defined interface (36).
