Summary:The furniture consists of a support frame having bars (5) extending along its boundary edges, membrane-type thin outside walls (2) being inserted between said bars. Said outside walls (2) are fastened by the engagement of their inwardly projecting profiled edges (6) on the bars (5). Since no fittings can be attached to these thin walls (2), a plate-shaped support element (3) is inserted between the edges (6) of the outside wall (2) supported on the bars (5), to which support element fittings can be attached by means of screws. The support element (3) is fastened on one side by the engagement of an edge groove (9) on the edge (6) of the outside wall (2) and on the opposite side by an adjustable engagement device (13). The latter has a plate-shaped engagement part (25) which is guided in a slot of the support element (3) and can be moved by an adjustment body (26) with an eccentric groove (27) into engagement with an edge (6) of the outside wall (2).
