Summary:A separator for removing liquid from liquid-laden gases comprises hollow vanes (10a, 10b, 10c) mounted generally upright and spaced apart to define zig-zag paths (14) between for the upward flow of gas from a bottom entry to an upper exit, the zig-zag paths causing the gas to deposit the liquid droplets on the vanes. The vane walls have downwardly facing apertures (16) through which the liquid passes into the vane interiors, where it flows downwards and into an annular drainage channel in the enclosing duct (Figs. 1,2). The duct is of circular cross-section, and the vanes vary in transverse width accordingly. Spaces between the outer vanes and the duct wall are blanked off.
