Summary:The invention provides a method for genetic analysis of a bovine, especially of German Holstein cattle, which is suitable to predict the individual risk of the bovine to develop phenotypic LDA and for the determination of the individual risk of an animal for hereditary transmission of an allele causing LDA. The genetic analysis identifies the presence of alleles of genetic markers that have been found to be coupled to LDA, i.e. identification of the presence of alleles of genetic markers that have been found to be present in cows affected by phenotypic LDA, whereas another allele of the marker was found to be associated with a non-LDA phenotype.
