Summary:The invention relates to a hybrid drive comprising a dragged cylinder and a hydraulic accumulator recharge during the adjusting movement to produce an adjusting movement and to provide a large amount of retaining force, especially for moving molding tools and for applying a closing force onto said tools, comprising a spindle drive for the adjusting movement and a differential cylinder unit required for providing the retaining force and comprising a piston rod, an annular pressure compartment at the piston rod end and a pressure compartment at the end facing away from the piston rod. The aim of the invention is to reduce the noise level of such a linear drive by simple and compact means by using a hydraulic accumulator and not requiring any additional units. According to the invention, the piston rod is connected to an axially mobile component of the spindle drive. The hybrid drive comprises a hydraulic accumulator into which a pressure medium can be displaced from the annular first pressure compartment at the piston rod end when the piston rod is extended. Pressure medium continues to flow from a reservoir into the second pressure compartment at the end facing away from the piston rod. The pressure compartment at the end facing away from the piston rod is shut off from the reservoir and connected to the hydraulic accumulator to provide the required retaining force.
