Preparation of molded articles having filling materials completely surrounded by covering materials (a), comprises supplying at least two films of (a) containing at least a thermoplastic polymer, where the material is in viscous structure and a cross-over point between the storage module and the wastage module exhibits a frequency spectrum of 0.001-100000 s -1>, measured in an area above the glass temperature and 1-100[deg]C below the liquid-fusion temperature of the material; and welding the obtained films at a temperature below the liquid fusion temperature of the covering material under increased mechanical load. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a composition for the preparation of molded articles (preferably soft capsules) comprising (a); and (2) molded articles (preferably soft capsules) with blunt welding seam comprising (a), where the material excludes gelatin, thermoplastic starch or carrageenan.
