Summary:The card (300) has a memory coupled to a processor, and a network interface circuit coupled to the processor and the memory. The circuit couples to a physical layer of a network. Instructions are executed by the processor to allocate media access control (MAC) addresses to the interface circuit. The instructions cause the processor to receive data units addressed to the addresses associated with the card, over the network. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a network having a network testing system (b) a method of creating virtual media access control addresses.
