Summary:The invention relates to a roller coaster for moving vehicles along a substantially track-guided railway, comprising a lifting device for lifting the vehicles to an elevated starting height. The vehicle can travel along a segment (3) of the railway from said height to an end station (1). According to the invention, the lifting device has a carrier device (25) by means of which the vehicles can be picked up in a first segment (2) of the railway and delivered to an elevated second segment (3) of said railway.
