Summary:A flexible package (200; 230; 240; 260; 270; 280) is provided with a shrouded slider fastener closure. A side seal (22) forming the package is enlarged (80) at its upper end to provide a smooth transition of product dispensed from the package, and to shield the slider (30) during dispensing. The enlarged side seal portion (80) is spaced from the fastener tracks (26, 28). The fastener tracks (26, 28) are deformed to provide a stop (68) spaced from the side seals (20, 22) to limit slider (30) movement. A stop (68) of reduced area, enlarging the package opening, is made possible.
