Summary:A support bracket (6) and stake (21) are provided for edging gardens and lawns or for forming retaining walls. Used together, the bracket (6) and stake (21) provide a means to support and anchor lengths of lumber to the ground to create a variety of edging systems. The stakes (21) attach the system securely to the ground surface, while the support bracket (6) has a beam receiving portion (8) to support different types of lumber used in edging. A mounting column (10) on the support bracket (6) secures the support bracket (6) to the stakes (21) such that the support bracket (6) may freely rotate 360 DEG perpendicular to the vertical axis of the stake (21). The stakes (21) are vertically engageable to provide a raised border system of various heights. Thus, a plurality of brackets (6) may be secured one on top of the other to the stakes (21), so as to similarly secure lengths of lumber, to form a raised wall.
