Summary: | 1. Process for selectively precipitating low density lipoproteins in biological liquids or tissue extracts, without precipitating, as the case may be, high density lipoproteins, by a reagent comprising one or more polyanions such as heparin, polyethylene glycols, phosphotungstic acid, a dextrane sulphate, associated or not associated with divalent cations, characterized in that, in order to prevent the concomitant precipitation of very low density lipoproteins and/or of chylomicrons, a reagent comprising in combination with the above elements an anionic, a cationic or non ionic detergent is used, said detergent being other than a polyethylene glycol when the reagent containing one or more polyanions is a polyethylene glycol. |
