Summary:Two single phase motors (1) behind the cable drive canvas roll (4) and chains (13), running in guides (8) down each side of the body, by means of chain drives (6,7). Sliders (15) are fixed to the chains (13) on each side, and carry transverse section (18) to which the end of the canvas is attached by fasteners (21). Vertical draw-plate (19) is hinged to section (18) and serves to level the load in advance of the canvas as this is unrolled. When the canvas is fully extended, plate (19) is lowered and attached to the rear of the vehicle, completely enclosing the contacts.
