Summary:Body comprising cemented carbide or cermets coated with at least one diamond layer has in-between the body and the diamond layer spotwise occurring particles containing at least one element chosen from tungsten (W), tantalum (Ta), titanium (Ti), molybdenum (Mo), chromium (Cr), vanadium (V), niobium (Nb), magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca), sodium (Na), potassium (K), or preferably any of bismuth (B), silicon (Si), sulphur (S), aluminium (Al) or phosphorus (P). The particles are dispersed at a density such that the average distance between two particles is 10 (preferably 5) microns or less. Also claimed is production of above body. Body is cemented carbide with depleted Co surface, where surface roughness is 1 ~mmRa20~mm, preferably 10~mm and porosity of 10~mm, preferably5~mm.
