Summary: | 2.1 The object of the invention is to develop polymers having a broad molecular weight distribution and enhanced heat distortion resistance (heat resistance) which, in their composition, do not need the use of additional specific monomers in the preparation process. 2.2 This is achieved by the fact that chemically substantially uniform polymer components of various weight-average molecular weights comprising specific monomers are present as a mixture of these polymer components having various molecular weights and specific proportions by weight. 2.3 The area of application of this process is for polymers having a broad molecular weight distribution and enhanced heat distortion resistance, for example binders or binder components in hot-melt adhesives, coating compositions, powder coatings (powder paints) and toners or components for modifying the properties of plastics. |
