Summary:The invention relates to a device for engaging and disengaging the inking unit drive and the damping unit drive on rotary printing machines and comprises the features described below. A control hub (13), which is mounted in a freely accessible manner on at least one printing unit (1), can be switched into a plurality of catch positions (I, II, III). A securing movement of the control hub (13), which precedes a switching movement of the control hub (13), can be detected via a sensor system (16). A control shaft (11) is provided with a cam piece (12) whose profile is scanned continuously by scanning devices (17, 18). The switching movement of the control hub (13) is converted by transmission elements (9, 10) into an axial movement of a slide bush (3).
