Summary:Hitherto, sulphur compounds have been removed from hydrocarbons by adsorption on activated carbon, silicates and zeolites. The use of a zeolite containing zinc and manganese is also known. However, all the existing processes are unsuitable for removing traces of sulphur from hydrocarbons. The novel process is thus intended to allow a deep desulphurisation of hydrocarbons. The deep desulphurisation of hydrocarbons is achieved by adsorption of the sulphur compounds on zeolites which contain copper, silver or zinc or mixtures thereof. Deep desulphurisation of hydrocarbons.
