Process for the preparation of novel water-soluble carbohydrate derivatives

A process for the preparation of novel water-soluble carbohydrate derivatives with radicals, linked via ester functions, of bioactive substances of the general formula I in which X1 is H, X, CH3, C2H5, CH2CH2OH, CH2CH(OH)CH3, CH2CH(OH)CH2OH or a radical -A or alpha- or beta-4-bonded glucose residue...

Summary:A process for the preparation of novel water-soluble carbohydrate derivatives with radicals, linked via ester functions, of bioactive substances of the general formula I in which X1 is H, X, CH3, C2H5, CH2CH2OH, CH2CH(OH)CH3, CH2CH(OH)CH2OH or a radical -A or alpha- or beta-4-bonded glucose residue and, in the case of monosaccharides, not more than one radical X and, in the case of disaccharides, not more than three radicals X are the bioactive substance radicals 2-(3- benzoylphenyl)propionyl, 2-propylvaleryl, 2-(6-methoxy-2- naphthyl)propionyl, 1-(4-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2- methylindole-3-acetyl and 2-(2,4- dichlorophenoxy)propionyl, and the other radicals X are hydrogen, comprises reacting the bioactive substance compounds corresponding to the above-defined radical X, in the form of the free carboxylic acid or its acid derivatives, in particular acid chlorides, with a carbohydrate of the general formula II in which X'1 is H, CH3, C2H5, CH2CH2OH, CH2CH(OH)CH3, CH2CH(OH)CH2OH or a radical -A' or alpha- or beta-4-bonded glucose residue.
