The subject matter of the invention is a liquid, predominantly water filtration device with continuous flushing. The filtration device according to the invention has a closed - expediently cylindrical - housing, charging space, filtrate liquid space and cloudy liquid space which are separated from one another in the housing in a pressure-resistant manner. A characteristic feature of the device is that the device has filter candle(s) which is/are secured in the filtrate liquid chamber, is/are in communication between the charging chamber and the cloudy liquid chamber, and include hollow space, closure element(s), which periodically separate(s) the filter candle(s) from the charging chamber or from the cloudy liquid chamber, a shaft which moves the closure element or closure elements and is introduced in a sealed manner into the housing - and is necessarily tubular - and a mechanism which drives the shaft. The filtration device according to the invention ensures that the filtration of the liquid and the regeneration of the filter candle(s), of the filter element or filter elements takes place in continuous operation.
