Verfahren zur Herstellung thermoplastisch-elastischer Formmassen

Thermoplastic moulding compositions are made containing (a) 5 to 50% by weight of butadiene polymer, (b) 25 to 85% by weight of styrene or a derivative thereof and (c) 10 to 47% by weight of acrylonitrile or a derivative thereof, by polymerizing 5 to 95 parts by weight of styrene and/or acrylonitril...

Summary:Thermoplastic moulding compositions are made containing (a) 5 to 50% by weight of butadiene polymer, (b) 25 to 85% by weight of styrene or a derivative thereof and (c) 10 to 47% by weight of acrylonitrile or a derivative thereof, by polymerizing 5 to 95 parts by weight of styrene and/or acrylonitrile from the 50 to 95 parts contained in 100 parts of polymer in the presence of the butadiene polymer latex, the polymerization being initiated in not more than 30% by weight of the total emulsion of butadiene polymer and graft monomers, while the remaining 70% of the emulsion are continually at a rate corresponding to the rate of polymerization, and then adding 0 to 90 parts by weight of a styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer to the resulting graft polymer. Butadiene polymers specified are polybutadiene and copolymers of butadiene with styrene, acrylonitrile, acrylates, methacrylates and isoprene. Preferred latices are those of polybutadiene having average particle sizes below 0.4 microns. The polymerization is carried out in the presence of peroxy catalysts.
