Una composicion aceite lubricante que incluye un combustible base de aceite lubricante, uno o más derivados de sales amida de ácido poli(hidroxicarboxílico) preparados por la reaccion de una amina y un ácido poli (hidroxicarboxílico) de formula Y- CO[O-A-CO]n-OH. En la que Y es hidrogeno o grupo hidrocarburo opcionalmente sustituido, a es un grupo hidrocarburo opcionalmente sustituido divalente, y n es de 1 a 100, preferiblemente de 1 a 10, con un ácido o un agente transformador de compuestos cuaternarios; y un método para reducir depositos formados en un motor de combustion interna, el cual incluye lubricar dicho motor de combustion interna con dicha composicion de aceite lubricante. A method of reducing deposits in an internal combustion engine, comprising lubricating the internal combustion engine with a lubricating oil composition comprising lubricating oil base oil, one or more anti-wear additives and one or more poly(hydroxycarboxylic acid) amide salt derivatives preparable by reaction of an amine and a poly(hydroxycarboxylic acid) of formula (I) Y-CO[O-A-CO]n-OH (I) where Y is hydrogen or optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group, A is a divalent optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group and n is from 1 to 100, with an acid or a quaternizing agent.
