Summary: | This study describes the case of a 61-year-old male patient who presented at a healthcare facility with a complaint of a white patch in the back of the right vestibule, extending through the buccal mucosa on the same side, measuring approximately 5.0x2 cm. The lesion had been present for four months and was observed during an intraoral clinical examination. The patient did not experience any painful symptoms. An incisional biopsy was conducted, and the histopathological examination revealed a clinical diagnosis of a fragment of buccal mucosa covered by squamous epithelium showing hyperkeratosis, acanthosis, and severe epithelial dysplasia, consistent with leukoplakia. The proposed treatment involved the removal of the lesion using a Diode laser, which was performed in two stages with a 30-day interval between procedures. The treatment was effective in completely removing the lesion, and to date, there has been no recurrence. The patient is under strict follow-up and surveillance by the healthcare team. |
