The crystal of (C 6H 5C 2H 4NH 3) 2ZnBr 4 belongs to the monoclinic P2 1/ c space group, with a = 7.6700(12) Å, b = 25.532(3) Å, c = 11.1481(12) Å, and β = 91.403(11)°. The (C 6H 5C 2H 4NH 3) 2ZnBr 4 structure features well-ordered layers of isolated ZnBr 4 separated by bilayers of phenethyl ammonium cations.
