Electrical conductivity study on Na 3PO 4–Pb 3(PO 4) 2–BiPO 4 phosphate glasses

Electrical properties of 0.23Na 2O–0.23PbO–0.31Bi 2O 3–0.23P 2O 5, a glass composition of the Na 3PO 4–Pb 3(PO 4) 2–BiPO 4 system whose glass transition ( T g=377°C), have been studied in the temperature range 25–500°C and as a function of frequency between 1 Hz and 1 MHz. It is found that the compo...

Summary:Electrical properties of 0.23Na 2O–0.23PbO–0.31Bi 2O 3–0.23P 2O 5, a glass composition of the Na 3PO 4–Pb 3(PO 4) 2–BiPO 4 system whose glass transition ( T g=377°C), have been studied in the temperature range 25–500°C and as a function of frequency between 1 Hz and 1 MHz. It is found that the compound undergoes a electrical relaxation with an activation energy of 1.26 eV order. The discussed results indicate a relatively strong binding of sodium ions to the glass network.
