Summary:The effects of the experimental conditions and protein microenvironment on the fluorescence spectra of the Ca 2+-sensitive dye indo-1 in solutions and suspension of thymocytes have been studied. The temperature dependence of the contributions of L-, LM- and LP-forms of the dye in the integral fluorescent spectrum of indo-1 were estimated. The changes of Ca 2+ concentration in thymocytes of the rat during activation evoked by high KCl solution were reported.
