Synthesis of the HfGeO 4:Ti 4+ X-ray phosphor

The image quality advantages of high-density X-ray phosphors for medical radiography are reviewed. The synthesis of the high-density HfGeO 4:Ti 4+ X-ray phosphor is described, with emphasis on sources, fluxes, processing conditions, and thermal behavior.
