Summary:A convenient and high-yield process for preparing SF 5CF 2CF 2C 6H 5 has been developed. This material can be used to prepare a number of SF 5-aromatic derivatives with interesting properties. A high-yield preparation of SF 5CF 2CF 2C 6H 5 has been achieved via a two-step process: α,β,β-trifluorostyrene reacts with SF 5Br to give the intermediate product SF 5CF 2CFBrC 6H 5 ( 1) which, when treated with AgBF 4 in methylene chloride, produces SF 5CF 2CF 2C 6H 5 ( 2) in high yield.
