Liquid—liquid and vapour—liquid equilibrium data and calculations for the system aniline + water in the presence of NaCl, NaI, NH 4Cl and NH 4I

Liquid—liquid and vapour—liquid equilibrium data obtained at 323.15 K are presented for aniline + water systems with NaCl, NaI, NH 4Cl and NH 4I. Salting coefficients calculated from the experimental data for aniline are compared to those estimated using scaled particle theory (SPT). A modified pred...

Summary:Liquid—liquid and vapour—liquid equilibrium data obtained at 323.15 K are presented for aniline + water systems with NaCl, NaI, NH 4Cl and NH 4I. Salting coefficients calculated from the experimental data for aniline are compared to those estimated using scaled particle theory (SPT). A modified prediction technique—a combination of Boone's method, SPT and UNIFAC—is used to calculate vapour—liquid equilibrium data. This procedure is also found suitable for predictions of isobaric vapour—liquid equilibrium data for miscible systems. The agreement between the estimated and measured values demonstrates that the method is applicable within the comparatively small, but technologically essential, range of parameters studied.
